Finding Arizona

I took a five day vacation to Phoenix last week to visit some family, specifically my cousin, who moved there last summer. Aside from all the fun and going over memories, general bonding, we took a day and half trip up to the Superstition Mountains. We spent the night camping.

I think it was at some point that night, at an elevation of roughly 4,000 feet and in at or below a twenty degree weather forest in the mountain, I had a recurring thought that has popped up in my mind a couple times the last few years of my still young life. Staring up at those stars, I thought ‘If I died right now, I would be okay.’

It was one of those moments when you feel you’re life is next to complete. Not a sad moment, but an observation that one has fulfilled some, one, or most of their dreams, that they have lived a full life already and that yes everything (including me) is going to be okay.
